About Me
I was born in the small rural town of Zinapecuaro in the state of Michoacan in Mexico. My parents immigrated to the United States when I was 7-months old and raised me and my siblings in South Los Angeles. As the eldest of six siblings, in an extremely traditional Mexican family, I learned quickly about the value of education to reach your dreams. In 2005, I graduated from Cal State University, Northridge (CSUN), where I earned a BA in Journalism and in 2009, I graduated with a master's in Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute. Currently, I am pursuing a Doctoral degree in Education in Organizational Change and Leadership.
When I am not engaged in therapy, I am spending time with my husband, our two amazing boys, our two fur-babies (Scrappy & Smokey), and my nieces and nephews.
I am happy that destiny brought you here. Welcome!
If you are here you may be considering a specific life situation (trauma, challenge, worry, loss, parenting woe) that is preventing you from moving forward in the direction of your goals and dreams. Or maybe you just need a person to talk to, to gain clarity on a situation (new job, recently engaged, contemplating having kids, purchasing a home). Therapy is not only for the afflicted, but also for the conflicted!
You are brave for considering leaning into the therapeutic process. This is the first step toward your own healing!
Contact me further if I am the right fit to walk with you on your journey.
